Photo 1: Front. Photo 2: Back.

The bar has two public rooms, front and back. The front is your typical bar with booths, bartop and stools. The spacious back room can be rented out for private parties and has a secondary bar, a couple pool tables, dart boards, and can accommodate a small band in one corner on the weekends. Walls in both rooms are decorated with memorabilia and old photographs from the fire and police departments of Chicago and near suburbs. In addition to booze the bar serves typical pub food such as burgers, fries, wings, etc. First time visitors who are active or retired members of police and fire departments or the US Military get the first drink on the house with presentation of a valid departmental ID. The building is a two story brick building with a basement. Storage for the bar is in the basement, and the upper floor has two apartments that Pat rents out for extra money to help cover property taxes on the building.
    3) THE RING- A demon fighting ring owned by Darian.

Fictional Locations - City Limits: The Resource Page
Located in an industrial corridor, the old Godwin Box Factory has been purchased by Darian and opened for the first time in over a decade. The venue features cage-fighting events, with a mixture of demonic and human fighters that self-select into the program. The matches are often fight-to-the-death, with the victor determining the fate of their opponent. The audience (ranging from 200-300 patrons) pays a fee to attend. That money is split between the winners of a double- or triple-header. Patrons are also able to gamble on the event, using monetary, physical, or metaphysical currency. All debts are collected by the Dealmaker in full. An NPC named Phillip serves as Darian's right-hand man.
    4) ABANDONED FREIGHT TUNNELS UNDER DOWNTOWN CHICAGO
** These are not actually fictional... but the access points to them are!

The tunnels are 40 feet underground, humid, empty, and in complete darkness. Characters will lift a sewer grate in the ground. They'll descend into the sewer. Inside the sewer, in strategic locations, there are places in the concrete where holes have been made. If characters climb through those, they'll be in the freight tunnels that run parallel to the sewers. Mind the drop! It's a big one.
Fictional Locations - City Limits: The Resource Page

The street map below indicates the actual locations of known freight tunnels in Chicago. For the purpose of our story, we have indicated that the Halsted Street segment of the tunnel extends at least 2.8 miles farther north, towards Lincoln Park (see diagram).

    5) THOTH'S LIBRARY- An occult bookstore run by Logan Guevara.

    Image Coming Soon.

An occult bookstore located just on Wabash Ave. on the north side of The Loop, Thoth's Library is owned and operated by former Watcher Logan Guevera. The store is a place where characters can find information on anything supernatural-related -- say a woman wants help evicting a ghost shacking up in her apartment, or a man wants to read up on vampire cults. In terms of story , Thoth's Library can also provide employment for characters, as well as a meeting place for White Hats (Logan will provide a room in the back for meeting purposes).

Books make up the majority of the store's inventory, though an assortment of basic magick tools -- such as candles, gemstones and tools of divination -- will also be sold. Thoth's Library was originated with the supernatural novice in mind, a way to help educate a public still coming to grips with a strange, often frightening world.

And if profits are high enough, a coffee shop might eventually be opened within. Just like the incredibly mundane Barnes & Noble.
    6) ETERNAL BLISS- A 1-900 business run by Rosalyn Voorhies.

Not so much a location as a small business venture. It's a sex chat line for the new age... featuring dirty-talking vampires.
    7) ASPIRE- A public gym run by Kris Michaels.

Photo 1: Upstairs floor. Photo 2: Classes in session. Photo 3: Downstairs floor.

The gym has two floors. The upstairs floor is where all the self defence classes are run and other lessons such as aerobics and other workouts can take place; it's kitted out with exercise balls and has a surplus of mats in a storage closet. The downstairs is more of a general gym with weight machines, treadmills, benches, exercise mats, elliptical cross trainers and exercise bikes.

Water is provided free as are the towels; showers are built in and there are changing rooms for both genders.

It's open most of the day and there are late lessons run for people who need to exercise out of normal working hours. Kris used to rent but thanks to a generous amount given to her by Toby, she has bought the building.

Both Kris Michaels and Connor Reilly work at this establishment.
    8) FIREWATER - A pool hall/bar owned and run by Joseph Tropiano.

    Pool Hall

    OPENING HOURS

    Mon-Fri:09:30-02:00
    Sat:09:30-03:00
    Sun: CLOSED

The pool hall is built in the place of what had been a previously unowned and unloved building, renovated to be open planned and easy on the eyes. There are 15 tables in total with cues and balls supplied, a kitchen for hot food, 1 bar staffed by 2 members of staff, 4 waitresses on hand for drink/food orders and several stools for patrons to sit on. There is also an old classic jukebox machine with various music from varying decades, guaranteed to meet anybody's taste.

There is a back office area off limits to the general public, no dress code to speak of and very minimal security. Owner can take care of problems on his own without the need for muscle. Simply respect the hall, the owner, its staff and there shouldn't be a problem.

Owner has eventual plans to open up the space to some sort of open-mic evening, to encourage budding artists in Chicago to share their talents.
    9) HELLO AGAIN RESALE- A resale / thrift store owned and run by Erica Sheehan.

    Hello Again Resale
A resale / thrift store in the heart of Wrigleyville. Erica buys and sells used clothing, shoes, books, knick-knacks, toys, bikes and small furniture. She also sells on a smaller rack clothing she had made herself, and can be called upon to create custom fashions for those who ask. Cluttered and crowded, the store greatly resembles an indoor garage sale or flea market. Generally open seven days a week, nine to six, though it does not open until after noon on Sundays. Large yellow smiley face with the store name is painted in the center display window.
    10) DIMENSIONS- An entertainment venue for the supernatural circuit.

Though it's said to exist 'between' dimensions, it's more accurate to say the venue is on its own plane of existence. From the outside, it looks like a normal nightspot squashed between bars and eateries, its front door opening onto Rush Street in downtown Chicago. But once inside, guests are ushered into a foyer (see photo 4). The door on the right leads into a regular nightspot. The door at the top of the stairs leads to a dimensional rift, which physically manifests as a popular nightspot for humans and supernatural entities. Within the physical structure, multiple doorways exist, opening onto different worlds. However, guests may only exit onto their proper worlds (this isn't an airport terminal). It's a neutral zone; any offensive maneuvers result in immediate removal (read: getting ousted into your own plane). So what's to stop two enemies from just 'taking their fight outside'? There's a spell on the door. When you leave, you're dumped somewhere randomly outside, but not exactly where you entered (i.e. two people leaving a few seconds apart won't end up in the same place and perhaps not even in the same street). A mysterious incoporeal entity runs the place. Need inspiration? Think of Caritas on Angel, or Midnight's bar in Constantine. It's the perfect setting for characters who'd normally just kill each other to interact. All characters are welcome. **Dimensions has no connection to the Chicago portal**

IMPORTANT: Customers do not purchase beverages, food or any other entitled services, with any known currency. Instead, tokens can be bought in the prior venue, which are then exchanged in 'Dimensions' for whatever is requested. No tokens? No soup for you! For an example of a scene set in Dimensions, click here!
    11) CHICAGO UNDERGROUND- A web forum for supernaturally-involved characters.

This web forum allows supernaturally-involved characters to communicate anonymously online. The website features a discussion board and a chat feature for personal conversations. Any game character is welcome to participate. This differs from Janine's forum in that it's used by our seriously supernaturally-involved characters rather than NPC supernatural enthusiasts discussing occurrences.

How to Access It- Use the city_limits_npc journal. When posting, put 'Chicago Underground: [subject]' in the subject header. Indicate at the top of the post if it's filtered to certain characters. For example:

Chicago Underground- Did You See That?!
    Filtered to Pixie Strumpet

Very Important Tips- a) Create a fake screen name for your character to preserve anonymity on the discussion group... this will be added to our cast list, b) Consider carefully how much sensitive information your character posts in an online forum, such as "where I'm patrolling tonight", c) Remember if your thread is unfiltered, enemies, authorities, or the public could see, d) Please don't post quizzes, etc., e) Remember that IJ icons aren't visible to protect characters' identities.

How Characters Get the Word- No one knows who owns the website (hacking attempts = epic fail). Select individuals around Chicago (i.e. our characters, not the general public) can find business cards with the URL, which will enable them to register. Feel free to be creative with where it turns up.
    11) VINE'S- A sit-down restaurant owned by Gavin Munyard.

This family-run restaurant features an expansive menu with a section that caters specifically to werewolves. See Gavin's writer for details.
