New Applicants

Before you apply:

• Read the Guidelines and follow them in your application.
  
• Read the other resources (i.e. Applicant Tips, Character Likeness or PB, FAQs, Our Supernatural Lore, etc.).
• Check out our Cast to see if a similar character concept is already in use.
• Though we are accepting a variety of original concepts for characters, we are at a deficit for Inquisitors, vampires, werewolves, and dhampir. We also welcome anyone with a thorough imagination for the steampunk concept.
  
• Use spelling and grammar check.
• Confused over any part of the application? Have general questions about the game? Feel free to email us or message a moderator. Unlike our characters, we don't bite! :)
  

When you apply:

• Paste the information below into an email and send it to rpgbirthright@yahoo.com .
• Include your name and the character's name in the email subject line.

• Time Zone (to aid in scheduling scenes)
• Birthday (only month/day, if you're comfortable providing it)

Character Stats-

• Name
• Goes By (What are they called? Can include nicknames)
• Celebrity Likeness or PB (Click here for availability)
• Role (ex. Vampire, Werewolf, Shopkeeper, Inquisitor, Demon Hybrid, Dhampir, etc.)
• Archetype (Usually an adjective and a noun. Ex. 'Reluctant Hero', 'Reckless Spellcaster', 'Malicious Vixen'. Note: Archetypes evolve as your character develops. Need inspiration?)
• Hat Color (ex. White, Gray, Black... white=good, black=evil, gray=ambiguous)

Character Profile-

• Brief biography
• Personality summary
• Strengths and weaknesses (in terms of physical abilities, skills, and personality traits)
• GMC (What is their initial goal, motivation, and/or conflict upon entering the game? It helps to have a starting point for your character. It can be minor at first, such as needing a job, or escaping a bad situation, and progress into something major later.) Go to 'GMC- Goal, Motivation, and Conflict' for clarification.
• Writing Sample (A sample solo for the desired character... you choose the style. Provide a few good-sized paragraphs. We want to get a feel for the character and your writing style.)

Each member of the 2-person moderating team will review the application. Once a consensus is reached, you'll receive a reply. If a consensus cannot be reached, we will ask an impartial writer from Victorian Nocturne to review the application and break the tie. The reply you receive may include feedback such as suggestions for minor alterations. You can expect to hear back in 1-5 days. We are available for clarifications via IM or email (AIM Screennames: Poetic Fangs or Eyeliner Girls).
